“What a dream to find these characters from 25 years ago and observe where they are in today’s society, to be able to play them again and hang out with a few of your friends for a whole summer, and with new acquaintances as well. It was a joy and a dream that I still live today!” tells Wim Snape, who plays the son of Gaz, still a child in the film, and now a father and a policeman in the series.

Alongside the actors of the first hour, there are also new recruits, including Talitha Wing, who lends her features to Destiny Schofield, Gaz’s teenage daughter. “It was really great! A FUNNY AND AUTHENTIC STORY

Over its 8 episodes, The Full Monty: the series depicts the sometimes funny and moving, even ridiculous and desperate misadventures of the famous band and their entourage. It tackles subjects that could not be more current, all accentuated by the corrosive humor of Gaz and his friends and the improbable situations in which they find themselves, and which made the success of Peter Cattaneo’s film.

“I think it would be a mistake to recount the lives of these men 25 years later and dilute everything that has happened in the country since that time. It’s been very difficult for a lot of people, 25 years of Conservative government and austerity, emphasizes Robert Carlyle. Simon [Beaufoy, le scénariste de la série et du film] brilliantly balances comedy and tragedy. It is something very difficult to do.”

“There are things that will make you laugh, and others that will make you cry, it’s part of the rich fresco of life,” complete Mark Addy. An opinion also shared by his co-star Lesley Sharp who salutes the work of the writers of the series: “It’s one of the great qualities of Simon and Alice [Nutter], they don’t shy away from writing about darker and more difficult issues, but they do so with heart and kindness.”

25 years after winning the hearts of viewers, find these working-class heroes now as they continue their tribulations in The Full Monty: The Series, on Disney+.
