Already certified in South Korea, the Xiaomi Smart Band 8 has been the subject of a publication in which we can discover its design, with a fastening system that is very different from previous versions.

While Xiaomi announced last Sunday the marketing in France of its new connected watch, the Xiaomi Watch S1 Pro, the Chinese manufacturer is already working on its next connected bracelet. As spotted by the site GSM Arenathe future Xiaomi Smart Band 8 has already been certified in South Korea.

The site specializing in mobile technologies has indeed spotted a certification for a new connected bracelet on the site of the NRRA, the Korean authority in charge of telecommunications regulation. What to allow to discover certain characteristics of the activity tracker, but also several photos allowing to discover a design partly inspired by the Pixel Watch.

We can thus discover, on the back of the sensor, a location for the heart rate monitor with a light-emitting LED and a sensor which will make it possible to analyze the heart rate and, potentially, the blood oxygenation rate. Still on the back, the photos reveal two small pins that should allow the bracelet to be recharged.

A bracelet better integrated into the sensor

The main novelty, however, would come from the strap attachment system. The Xiaomi Smart Band 8 would have two different bands, like a connected watch, which hang on each side of the sensor. A design change since Xiaomi’s previous bracelets only offered to integrate the sensor inside a slot provided in the bracelet.

Above all, the hanging system is reminiscent of what we already know with the Google Pixel Watch or the Apple Watch. The same goes for the hook and loop closure to be integrated into one of the punches on the bracelet to secure the tracker firmly to the wrist.

It is not yet known when Xiaomi intends to officially launch its new Smart Band 8. As a reminder, the Xiaomi Smart Band 7 was officially announced in May 2022 in China before being marketed in France in June of last year. Meanwhile, Xiaomi has also released a more advanced model, with GPS tracking, the Smart Band 7 Pro, available since this fall.
