KRN, Germany, June 26 (Reuters) – The group of seven most industrialized democracies will impose an embargo on imports of Russian gold on Tuesday, a U.S. official learned on Sunday as Germany opens a summit bringing together the G7 countries.
London and Washington are expected to announce the decision on Sunday and an official and formal statement will be made on Tuesday, the official said.
“The President and other G7 leaders will continue to work to hold (Vladimir) to account. Today the United States and Britain are announcing that G7 leaders will ban imports of Russian gold. official announcement will be made on Tuesday.”
