The Galaxy Watch 6 is getting a little closer to its release with this new milestone

They aren’t official yet, but Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 6s are on the way. The next connected watches from the Korean giant have just entered the database of the FCC, the American regulatory body.

Another milestone for the next generation of connected watches from Samsung. As the first anniversary of the Galaxy Watch 5 approaches, the Korean giant is preparing the launch of their replacements, the Galaxy Watch 6… which have just entered the database of the FCC, the American regulatory body. This step is a must for the vast majority of “telecommunications” devices before they are marketed in the United States.

A step most often taken a few weeks before the formalization. In other words, the Galaxy Watch 6 shouldn’t be long. Their presentation should also take place during an Unpacked event expected in July, which should also allow Samsung to unveil its next generation of folding smartphones, with the future Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Z Fold 5.

What’s new with the Watch 6?

In detail, the documents consulted by SnoopyTech confirm the existence of at least four models of Galaxy Watch 6, for the moment designated by the references: SMR930, SMR935, SMR940, and SMR945. FCC records further indicate that some of these models will come with cellular connectivity (unsurprisingly), and all will obviously rely on the same charger as the Galaxy Watch 5s ( under the reference EP-OR900).

Anyway, the Galaxy Watch 6 should be equipped with One UI 5 and have larger batteries than the Watch 5. This could induce a slightly longer charging time on some models since the charger will not evolve not. We should also find a new processor, the Exynos W980, engraved in 5 nm. The latter should make it possible to gain in energy efficiency, and therefore in autonomy, compared to the Watch 5.

Previous rumors also suggested that the Galaxy Watch 6 would have a larger screen for an identical case format. A change made possible by the adoption of smaller borders around this screen. Android Authority further recalls that the “non-Pro” Watch 6 would be equipped with a rotating ring around the screen. More information to come very soon.
