The mystery still hangs over the exact specifications of the Galaxy Watch 6. Samsung is expected to introduce its new range of connected watches at the same time as the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5. The series will be available in two products, the Galaxy Watch 6 and the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic. According to the Sam Mobile site, the Korean manufacturer has not only focused on sports and health features, points on which Apple still remains the benchmark, but also on the hardware side, with a new processor.

Samsung will equip its connected watches with a more efficient processor. Barely two years after launching the Exynos W920 on the Galaxy Watch 4, the company will equip its Galaxy Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic with a new Exynos W980 processor. In terms of pure performance, it is advertised as 10% faster than its predecessor, but nothing is known about its GPU, or even how often it is clocked. According to Sam Mobile, it will be engraved at 5 nm. Generally speaking, finer etching is believed to equate to better energy efficiency. In the world of connected objects, and watches, this means that we will gain in autonomy.

The Galaxy Watch 6s will have a 1.47-inch screen, which will be of higher quality, thanks to a higher pixel density. In addition to having a curved OLED screen, the Classic model should mark the return of an accessory cherished by horophilists: the rotating bezel. When released, this new range of watches will be accompanied by a new version of One UI Watch, the home version of Wear OS.

Connected watches will be made official at the same time as the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5, Samsung’s new folding phones. These devices will be the real highlight of the show that the Korean giant should organize in August 2023.
