Samsung would improve the photo part of its Galaxy Z Fold 4 this year. The latter would notably have a better telephoto lens, capable of outperforming that of the Galaxy S22 Ultra in x3 zoom.
To remain the leader in the folding smartphone market when many other manufacturers want to invest in it in 2022, Samsung would refine the capabilities of its Galaxy Z Fold 4 in the photo. Expected later this year, the device would ship according to Ice Universe a main sensor of 50 Mpx, an ultra-wide-angle module of 12 Mpx and finally a x3 optical zoom with a 12 Mpx sensor.
According to leaker, this x3 zoom would be the best ever installed by Samsung on a smartphone: it would notably be able to beat what the S22 Ultra offers at the same level of magnification. Note however that with its x10 zoom, the S22 Ultra would remain far ahead in terms of total magnification.
A search for balance… to avoid weighing down the device
As a reminder, the current Galaxy Z Fold 3 is content with a more modest photo component, with a 12 Mpx wide-angle lens, a 12 Mpx ultra-wide-angle module, and a 12 Mpx telephoto lens with x2 zoom. also. The manufacturer would therefore rather focus on software optimizations that will make it possible to make the most of the sensors installed on its future Galaxy Z Fold 4.
For the rest, the device should not not exceed 260 grams according to Ice Universe. It would bet on slightly larger internal and external screens and on a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
