For several years, the GeekDays criss-cross France for various conventions. First launched in the Lille region, editions are held regularly in Rennes, Brest and Caen. This year, the organizers are doing it again at Lille Grand Palais since after an edition held last May, the Winter edition will take place this weekend, on December 3 and 4. We take stock of everything you need to know.
The Geek Days, back in Lille in December
For this new winter edition, the Geek Days once again divide their universes into several distinct areas, namely ImaginaryWorld (the major licenses such as Star Wars and Harry Potter), Creative Corner (the creative space with artists and creators), VirtualZone (the area dedicated to players, with tournaments, arcade terminals and meetings with content creators) and Heart of Asia (devoted to Asian culture).
Two scenes will be active, the geek scene and the pop scene, with a program filled with tournaments, quizzes, Just Dance, karaoke and interviews. A few video game schools and development studios will also be present, notably PrismaStone Studio, which revealed Project Hoyra exclusively at AG French Direct, with an on-site presentation. Our team will also go there on the first day if you want to meet us.
Of course, the convention is not without its guest list, alternating between public figures, dubbing professionals, youtubers and other streamers. Among the most notable is the presence of David KrugerFrench voice of The Rock, Chris Pratt or Major John-117 from Halo, Nicolas Gabioncomedian and actor that we saw in Kaamelott (Bohort) or streamers / videographers benzaie and Bob Lennon.
When are Geek Days Winter?
The Geek Days return to Lille on Saturday 03 and Sunday 04 December 2022. It is possible to access the living room from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. without interruption. Please note, all outings are final, so remember to bring your meal or your wallet to access the various food stalls distributed in a catering area.
How to get to Geek Days Lille?
The Lille Geek Days take place at Grand Palais, at the following address: 1 Boulevard des Cités Unies 59777 Lille. It is possible to go there either by metro, or by bus, or by train by walking a little. There is also a dedicated paying car park and it is possible to park in the area, especially near the University of Lille.
We advise you to go there by metro or train if you have the possibility. The price of parking is high per day, this will save you money. Being from Lille, this should not be a problem for you. Otherwise, don’t hesitate to park at Saint-Philibert to take advantage of the free parking and take the metro to Lille Grand Palais. Remember that a train strike is announced for this weekend in the metropolis.
