Photographer Johannes Bichmann has been setting up his mobile photo studio in old people’s homes and day care centers since 2011. There he portrays seniors for his project “The glow of old age”, in which he gives them appreciation and attention with his photos. The artist has been working with “Caritas” in Oldenburg since 2022, which arranges contacts and actively supports the project. When asked about the reason for his work, Johannes Bichmann explains: “We often forget that there are individuals behind the apparatus of ‘care’. With my project ‘The glow of old age’ I would like to help the important area of ​​geriatric care to gain more visibility in of society.” The result is moving recordings that show the souls of the protagonists and make them shine.
