The Godfather and his chaotic scenes in the trailer for The Offer

The first images of the long-awaited mini-series looking back on the creation of the Godfather from the point of view of one of its producers, played by Miles Teller, have finally been unveiled.

Not everyone knows it, but what has become one of the most adored films of the 7th Art experienced a rather chaotic production, which the series The Offer expected on April 28 on Paramount + will set out to tell on 10 episodes.

The American platform has just shared the first trailer for the show which takes viewers back to the 70s alongside producer Albert S. Ruddy, played by Miles Teller, who had to fight tirelessly to adapt Mario Puzo’s novel The Godfather in the cinema.

At 91, Ruddy is also executive producer on The Offer. He notably spent several days with the creator of the series, Michael Tolkin, who, in the columns of Vanity Fairremembers what made him decide to embark on this adventure: “What sealed the deal for me was when Al said, ‘Every day of filming The Godfather was the worst day of my life,’ and that convinced me that we had a show.

It is therefore this infernal filming that the show tells, with Dan Fogler in the skin of Francis Ford Coppola, Matthew Goode in that of the head of Paramount Studios Robert Evans, but also Justin Chambers in Marlon Brando and Juno Temple in the role of the Rudy’s secretary, Bettye McCartt.

Colin Hanks and Burn Gorman complete the cast by playing high-ranking studio employees, while Giovanni Ribisi portrays mobster Joe Colombo who tried to stop The Godfather from happening.

Intense, the first images of The Offer promise a thrilling drama that looks like… gangster movies! Something to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the cult feature film in style.
