The gods have found a new playground in Smite 2 – Gamosaurus

Launched in 2014, Smite is a third-person action MOBA developed by Titan Forge. For its 10th anniversary, Hi-Rez Studios wants to mark the occasion by offering a new version of the game. No question of a simple facelift however,
Smite 2 intends to review the basics to be more accessible. Whether on PC, PS5 or Xbox Series, becoming a god will be much easier. When the game is available, obviously.

Presented as a sequel, the title nevertheless aims to supplant its predecessor. A version improved in every way, but which fundamentally changes nothing from what we already know.
Smite 2 therefore sees 2 teams of 5 gods confront each other who must defend their base, itself accessible by three different routes. Between these, a forest filled with monsters and loot where visibility is zero. In short, a very classic MOBA, but which runs under Unreal Engine 5.

The faithful are not forgotten

Being a free-to-play offering many skins, one question quickly stood out in the community. What will happen to purchases made in the first Smite ? The answer is clear, everything will be lost. Apart from the new cosmetics compatible between the two games, nothing will be retained. However, all skins will be converted to heirloom gems on Smite 2 in order to find new appearances. Only the most loyal players will therefore be able to benefit from it.

In addition, on the gameplay side, the most seasoned players will also be able to notice some differences. The strategy should be more important, the fights more impactful and certain systems will be revised. Relics and objects will notably benefit from some modifications. New dynamic map objectives also appear, in addition to two stats, strength and intelligence. It will be possible to discover all of this from the first closed alpha, which will be held in spring 2024. To have a chance to take part, registrations are open on the Hi-Rez Studios website.
