The Pixel 6a is undoubtedly one of the best surprises under the 500 euros that the mid-range has brought us this year. But despite its great qualities, especially in photos, some details could bother us. It seems that Google has heard us since according to the developer Kuba Wojciechowskisome weaknesses coming to be corrected on the Pixel 7a.

Kuba Wociechowski was interested in the smartphone under development “Pixel Lynx (L10)” which has already been the subject of rumors that suggested that it could be a Pixel Ultra or a Pixel Mini. According to his findings, it would indeed be a mid-range Pixel. The Lynx driver would indeed be called “Pixel 22 Mid-range”. He specifies that for the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro, this driver is called “Pixel 22 Premium”, which reinforces the idea of a Pixel 7a.

Google would have something to impress the mid-range

As we said above, some basic elements were missing to make the Pixel 6a perfect. Its 60 Hz screen weakened it, for example. If the Pixel Lynx is indeed the Pixel 7a, then according to Kuba Wociechowski, it would integrate a 90 Hz screen in 1080p. If the price is maintained at 459 euros, Google is likely to hurt the competition very badly.

Especially since the discoveries of the developer do not stop there. He also argues that Google has replaced the IMX 363 sensor of the Pixel 6a, which was starting to get old, with an IMX 787, a 50 megapixel sensor of the 1/1.3 inch type. Something to give it a youthful look. It would be accompanied by an IMX 712 sensor for ultra wide angle shots.

Last interesting element, the Pixel 7a could be equipped with wireless charging, which is not the case with its predecessor. This charge would however be limited to 5W, not enough to revolutionize your use, but it remains a relatively rare additional option for this price range.
