It seems that there is no longer a need for an alarm clock for the Google Pixel’s adaptive charging to activate. However, it was until then a sine qua non condition to take advantage of it.
The Google Pixel 4 and all of its successors now benefit from a very useful feature for their battery, adaptive charging. The latter aims to extend the autonomy and durability of your battery over the long term, thanks to a progressive recharging system used during the night.
To take advantage of it, it was necessary until then to respect a few small conditions: activate the said function within the parameters at first, but also configure an alarm clock between 3 a.m. and 10 a.m. As a result, adaptive charging could then automatically start between 9 p.m. and 4 a.m.
The case of a 9to5Google journalist
Except that according to a journalist from 9to5Google, it would no longer be mandatory to configure an alarm for the adaptive load to work. Indeed, the person concerned saw his Pixel 7 activate said function, even though he is not using his phone as an alarm clock – but his Pixel Watch, whose alarm is not synchronized with the smartphone.

On the screen of his Pixel 7, appeared a mention “Adaptive Charging – Full by 7.00 AM”. In other words, the adaptive charge was indeed active, for a full recharge scheduled for 7 a.m. It is precisely at this time that the journalist usually wakes up. Note: no “Bedtime” mode has been defined.
Fewer conditions to meet
In other words, adaptive charging no longer seems to depend on pre-requisites, such as setting an alarm clock between 3 a.m. and 10 a.m. For journalist Abner Li, the full charge scheduled for 7 a.m. could be a default slot on the part of the American group.
