What is this GoPro action cam?
The GoPro Hero11 takes the classic GoPro design, to the point that it looks just like the Hero10. The chassis is identical and the batteries are even perfectly compatible with each other. The case is still 72 × 51 × 33 mm for 153 g. On the back you will find a 2.27″ touchscreen and a back screen on the front. Once in hand, the action cam handles naturally. However, it is advisable to attach it to a harness or a pole, in order to get the best out of it and achieve the most beautiful images. Note that the GoPro is of course resistant to shocks, falls, and is waterproof up to 10 m.
Fortunately, apart from its similarities with previous models, it comes with several new features, especially at the sensor level. The Hero11 has a 27 Mpx sensor in 8:7 format, for videos in 16:9 and 9:16, ideal for social networks or Youtube. The wide angle of view can reach a maximum of 12 mm, and it now has a lock function for 360-degree motion correction, in order to obtain a stable image. HyperSmooth 5.0 stabilization further stabilizes the image for total smoothness, even in motion. It’s up to you to insure ahead of time.
Is the GoPro Hero11 a good deal for the sales?
Less than €400 is still an expensive price for an action cam, if you don’t need it anymore. But, if you want to immortalize your travels in the best way, it is an investment to consider, especially in promotion. The GoPro can film with a maximum image definition of 5.3K, and up to 60 fps. The image quality is there and you will be able to edit each video as you see fit. New modes, such as night mode, 10-bit mode or a mode for making starry sky timelapses, are all easy to use, and look great.
Unfortunately, all this performance in such a small box does not come without some concessions, especially on autonomy. The Enduro battery will last a little over an hour, if you’re shooting at 4K/60 fps. It charges via a USB-C port.
