And that’s where Hazelight Studios’ game hits hard: thanks to Remote Play Together technology and the Friend’s Pass, you can choose to play with whoever you want, whether or not the person has It Takes Two in their toy library. Unfortunately, cross-platform technology is not available, but you will be able to share your screen with the friend of your choice who has a PC and Steam, whether in “old school” local co-op or online.
History of It Takes Two
The game’s story is, spoiler-free, as sad as it is joyful. You enter the life of May and Cody, a couple who are visibly floundering. Unable to find a way out of this emotional impasse, they are forced to divorce. After discovering this cataclysmic event in a child’s life, their daughter Rose casts a spell on both of her parents through a mysterious book apparently written by a certain Doctor Hakim and two dolls in the likeness of her parents, demanding that Doctor to do everything so that his parents do not separate.
May and Cody thus find themselves transformed into dolls. Doctor Hakim then explains to them the conditions for returning to their normal life: the ex-couple must pass tests and cohabit despite their recent separation with the sole aim of understanding what is due to the failure of their couple. It is on this condition alone that they will have the right to resume their human form.
