PARIS (Reuters) – An exceptional bonus will be paid to all public officials “directly involved” in the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games, Minister of Transformation and Public Service Stanislas Guerini assured on Saturday, while the CGT threatens to strike during the event.

“There will be a bonus system which is very consistent for all agents who are on the ground of 500, 1,000, 1,500 euros with an additional specific system for the security forces who will be particularly mobilized,” declared Stanislas Guerini on franceinfo.

The Interior Ministry has already promised up to 1,900 euros in bonuses for the police officers and gendarmes concerned.

Stanislas Guerini refuted any lack of dialogue on “social preparation” for the Games, as accused by the CGT, whose general secretary Sophie Binet demanded “immediate measures” from the executive on Thursday.

“We are seriously moving forward,” said the Minister of the Civil Service who will meet the unions on Tuesday, as part of “monthly meetings at interministerial level”.
