Beware of the SMS you receive, new scam campaigns are underway. In a dedicated post, the government lists all these tricks that are currently rife with the French. False fine payments, Crit’Air sticker order, non-existent fuel allowances, we take a look at what may be waiting for you in the coming days.
Nowadays, it is not uncommon to receive fraudulent SMS which tries to steal our personal data or even, in the worst case, to empty our bank account. Never short of ideas, hackers regularly renew their techniques to make sure they catch a few victims. Also, the government has recently compiled a list of scams in progress on French territory.
All have one thing in common: they try to pass themselves off as a public body. Thus, the first usurps the identity of the National Agency for the Automated Processing of Offenses (Antai). In the SMS received by the victims, we discover an injunction to pay a late fine without delay, which is of course accompanied by a link to a phishing site. As a reminder, only one platform allows you to pay your fines online: amendes.gouv.fr.

Crit’Air vignettes and fuel allowance, the new scams in vogue
In this period of inflation which particularly affects gas stations, hackers also do not hesitate to use this lever to achieve their ends. A new scam therefore tries to make people believe in a fuel allowance of 100 €, which all you have to do is claim by clicking on a link – fraudulent too, it goes without saying. As the General Directorate of Public Finance (DGFIP) points out, only the impots.gouv.fr site allows you to apply for this allowance.
Finally, the Crit’Air sticker continues to be popular with scammers. Just like this campaign last October which encouraged drivers to order their copy within 48 hours, pirates are once again playing on the feeling of urgency to try to get their victims to checkout. However, the official Crit’Air site never sends SMS calling on drivers to order their label.
