The Governor of the BdF proposes an increase in the Livret A rate to 3%

PARIS (Reuters) – The Governor of the Banque de France, François Villeroy de Galhau, on Friday proposed an increase in the Livret A rate to 3% on February 1 and recommended raising the remuneration of the Livret d’épargne populaire (LEP) to 6.1%.

The Livret A remuneration rate, whose calculation formula is based on the inflation rate, fell from a historic low of 0.5% to 1% on February 1, 2022, before doubling again to 2% on the 1st. august.

That of the LEP, reserved for the most modest categories, is currently 4.6%.

The Minister of Economy and Finance, Bruno Le Maire, is about to announce the government’s final decision on raising these rates.
