In the work of Dr. Seuss, The Grinch is a Chou with an undersized heart who hates Christmas and wants to deprive all the inhabitants of Chouville of this holiday and its magic. But his meeting with a little girl will change everything.
If in Ron Howard’s adaptation worn by Jim Carrey (2000), the smile of the hero of this Christmas tale is already not very reassuring, this new version is enough to make the most daring tremble.
In this film directed by the aptly named Steven LaMorte, a young woman returns to the town of Newville where a green, voracious creature who despises the holiday season slaughtered her parents 20 years earlier. She discovers that the creature is still prowling and decides to train in order to rid the city of “The Mean One”.
And it is David Howard Thornton, who already embodies the bloody clown of Terrifier 2, who here lends his features to the terrible Grinch. No release date is announced.
The horrific versions of children’s tales therefore seem to have the wind in their sails after Winnie the Pooh serial-killer and Heidi vengeful warrior.
