According to Alyssa Milano, shooting the sensual scenes in The Grip of Vice, the erotic TV movie of which she is the heroine, was complicated. The reason ? The health crisis.
Adapted from the novel The Pink Message Board (Brazen Virtue in VO) by Nora Roberts, The Grip of Vice is a gentle Fifty Shades of Gray thriller that tells how a successful thriller author will investigate the murder of her sister.
This film available on Netflix can count on its attractive duo of actors, Alyssa Milano and Sam Page, to raise the temperature a little. But according to the actress, who came under fire from fans of the novel, it was difficult to build chemistry with her partner for the more sensual scenes.
The pandemic which complicates filming
In a promotional interview with journalist Sharronda Williams on the Youtube channel pay or wait, Alyssa Milano explains that the health protocol was a hindrance on the set:
“It was kind of weird because we had a whole bunch of protective gear, since we were shooting the movie during the pandemic, with Sam Page, who plays my love interest and is a terrific actor.
Normally, we can repeat these love scenes, these romantic scenes, and this allows us to create a connection with the other actor. There, we could repeat but always with all these health protection measures. So it was difficult to create this connection, but I think it helped us in the end.”
Despite the more complex filming conditions, Alyssa Milano and Sam Page managed to create this alchemy in The Grip of Vice where the actress even slipped into a latex camgirl outfit to trap the murderer of her sister’s character, who hid a double life on the Internet.
