PARIS, September 6 (Reuters) – The Chinese group Tencent has taken a 49.9% stake in the capital of the holding company of the Guillemot family, founders of Ubisoft, and is authorized to increase from 4.5% to 9.99 % its direct stake in Ubisoft, the French video game publisher announced on Tuesday.

Tencent’s investment in Guillemot Brothers Limited is 300 million euros, showing a value by transparency of Ubisoft at 80 euros per share, it is specified in a press release.

The concert, now extended to Tencent, will be able to increase its stake in Ubisoft up to 29.9% of the capital or voting rights. (Tassilo Hummel and Bertrand Boucey report, edited by Jean-Michel Bélot)
