The Halo series already renewed for a second season?

While it hasn’t even been released yet, the Halo video game-based series would already be renewed for a second season ! However, the release of season 1 is only scheduled for March 24 on the Paramount + streaming platform. The news was announced during a presentation of the series last Tuesday and already clearly reflects the ambitions of the producers for their future project.

A series not canon?

Indeed, the story of the series will resume the adventures of Master Chief in the middle of a war between humans and aliens, but it will not completely follow the plot of video games.

The series’ executive producer, Kiki Wolfkill said, “We call it the Halo Silver Timeline to differentiate it from the base canon. The point is to protect both the core canon and the TV story, and by that I mean we can give ourselves the chance to evolve both and make both be what they are must be for their supports without colliding with each other”.

Paramount+ therefore wishes to create a Halo universe of its own, with a whole new perspective on extraterrestrial conflict. Understandable, knowing that Halo content on different platforms (books, audio series and others) very often repeats the history of the license.

More production details

The first season of Halo: The Series will be led by Steven Kanescreenwriter of the series The Last Ship and Kyle Killencreator of the film series Fear Street. Two big names who had expressed that they only wanted to make one season of the Halo series. It is therefore David Wienerhaving worked on Fear The Walking Deadwho will take over for the second season as director and executive producer.

About the series, Tanya GilesExecutive Programming Director said: “Halo is an expansive world-building opportunity for Paramount+, and we’re excited to give fans a second season to look forward to before the series launches next month. Halo will provide thrills for fans of the game like to non-gamers, as it combines stunning imagery with an in-depth look at the personal stories of these iconic characters.”

By following the plot of Halo Silver Timeline, Paramount+ gives itself the possibility ofattract a whole new kind of audience to the universe. In this way, the series will not end up totally associated with video games and will surely be more popular because it is less predictable.

Halo Infinite

In any case, the first season of Halo will be released on Paramount+ on March 24th! We will soon be able to witness good zigoulage of aliens, and this for many years.

With the approach of the release of the Halo series, retracing the adventures of the famous Master Chief, a copyright conflict could well disrupt the smooth running of the project…
