Sadly at the heart of the news in recent weeks following the decision of the Supreme Court of the United States to revoke the right to abortion, the series The Handmaid’s Tale will soon be back on OCS for a particularly awaited 5th season. A FACE-TO-FACE AT THE SUMMIT BETWEEN JUNE AND SERENA
“I want her to know it was me…” The first words uttered by June (Elisabeth Moss) in the teaser for the 5th season set the tone: a real confrontation between her and Serena (Yvonne Strahovski) awaits us in The Handmaid’s Tale!
After having managed to flee Gilead, the former servant of the Waterfords will indeed have to face the consequences of the murder of Fred (Joseph Fiennes) perpetrated in the final minutes of the 4th season, while trying to redefine her identity and her purpose, according to the official synopsis.
The commander’s widow has not said her last word either: Serena will try to restore her image in Toronto, while the influence of Gilead is gradually beginning to be felt in Canada. “You want to fight ? Let’s go!” exclaims June at the end of the video, all accompanied in music by a cover of the title fighter by Christina Aguilera.
The two women will obviously not be the only characters that the spectators will find this season. As he wishes to reform the Republic of Gilead, Commander Lawrence, always a complex man, will collaborate with Aunt Lydia. Not to mention Luke, Moira and June’s quest to save Hannah…
WHEN WILL SEASON 5 RELEASE?
Spectators will be able to discover the 5th season of The Handmaid’s Tale exclusively on OCS from September 15, the day after the American broadcast. Two episodes will be offered at launch, followed by one episode per week.
WHO WILL BE STARRING IN THIS NEW SEASON?
Still worn by Elisabeth Moss in one of the most significant roles of her career, the series once again brings together Yvonne Strahovski, Bradley Whitford, Ann Dowd, Max Minghella, OT Fagbenle, Samira Wiley, Sam Jaeger and Amanda Brugel.
Fans will be saddened to learn, however, that actress Alexis Bledel, who played Emily since the debut of The Handmaid’s Tale, will not be returning this season. It is not yet known if the departure of his character will be explained or not.
It is therefore a new burst of episodes full of twists, but also emotions and certainly great upheavals, which awaits fans of the hit series!
