Something new for the Harry Potter series
The news comes from an exclusive from the media Deadline, known for its seriousness in covering film news. According to this information, Francesca Gardiner, screenwriter of Succession, is now among the finalists for the adaptation of JK Rowling’s works on the HBO Max streaming platform. Gardiner is considered one of three writers being considered to take the reins of the reboot of the world’s most famous wizard. A decision on this is expected shortly. Warner, seems to have refused to comment on the project for the moment and to confirm or not this rumor.
It is obvious that the challenge awaiting the screenwriter chosen for this reboot of Harry Potter is considerable. Relaunching such an iconic franchise is far from simple, especially since the fan community, both vast and passionate, has very specific expectations. Fortunately, the selected screenwriter will be able to benefit from JK Rowling’s advice, even if the task promises to be complex.
Francesca Gardiner thus appears to be a wise choice. As previously mentioned, she is particularly recognized for her remarkable work on the Succession series. Her experience does not stop there, since she also contributed to the writing of several episodes of At the Crossroads of Worlds and an episode of The Master of the High Castle.

This group of talents was tapped by Max to develop presentations based on their personal interpretation of the franchise.
