the hashtag that reveals life experiences

On Twitter, thousands of trans people have shared their life experiences via a hasthag.

For the first time used in 2016, the #EtreTransCest hasthag was relaunched at the beginning of August by @sry_fr_nthg “so that all trans people can express themselves, please feel free to share your experiences, the one I am transcribing is only mine, from my point of view as a non-binary transmasculine person ”. And more than 5,000 tweets in France have been identified. Between poignant, sad, touching and joyful testimonies, trans people have confided in the social network.

@YromaD thus declares #BeTransCest it is "to want to tear off your skin, your chest, to try to get out of this pulpit prison, to be called a monster, to put up with the unhealthy gaze of ignorant people. To wash yourself by closing your eyes, or by being plunged into the dark, avoid mirrors too ".

This liberation of words allows you to express your own emotions and not keep your thoughts to yourself. According to the site Stop Suicide, the demons of suicide are strongly present during the transitions.

Based on results from Switzerland, the study showed that "trans * people are up to ten times more likely to commit suicide."

The hasthag is also a way of thanking people who have been able to be a strong support during difficult times. "(…) but find unfailing support and solidarity with other girls and finally feel surrounded.", explains @ fan2solanas.

But it should be noted that pretty statements are added to the various tweets like that of @MangLucie: "because it also takes positive #BeTransCest face a thousand trials and be proud of who you have become. "

For @Kiynaah_, "#BeTransCest pride ! It's a lot of fears, difficulties, discrimination. But it's also an indescribable happiness to take back control of your body and your life! ”This testimony is a very good summary of what trans people go through.

A touch of humor sprinkles the various opinions of Internet users. "Being TransC is being able to choose your first name and not end up with a grandfather's first name chosen by our parents", writes for example @elidiot_.

Note that there is wonderful support from non-trans people.
