  • Fourteen Israeli hostages including two dual nationals, one American and the other Russian, as well as three Thais were released on Sunday November 26. They all arrived in Israel. One of the hostages, aged 84, is “in critical condition”depending on the hospital where she was admitted. This third hostage release operation brings to fifty-eight the number of hostages released since the start of the truce agreed between the Hebrew State and Hamas. Further releases are due to take place on Monday.
  • Israeli authorities released thirty-nine Palestinians, all under the age of 19, from prison, in exchange for the seventeen hostages released by Hamas, noted journalists from Agence France-Presse. Buses left the Israeli Ofer prison in the West Bank, where prisoners had been transferred before their release. They then arrived in Beitunia.
  • No French are among the hostages released between Friday and Sunday, but “we have hope” that French hostages be released, assured on BFM-TV the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Catherine Colonna. “I know it’s a grueling wait. (…) We are working tirelessly for their release”she added.
  • Joe Biden hopes four-day truce can continue “beyond tomorrow”. “It is my goal and our goal to ensure that this pause continues beyond tomorrow so that we can see more hostages released and more humanitarian aid” transported to the Gaza Strip, declared the American president during a speech on the release of an American hostage held from Massachusetts. Benjamin Netanyahu and Hamas also left open the possibility of an extension of the truce.
  • Many trucks of humanitarian aid have been transported to the Gaza Strip. “The PRCS teams [le Croissant-Rouge palestinien] transported one hundred trucks to Gaza City and the Northern Governorate”, announced the organization.   • The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (OSDH) reports that Damascus airport was once again the target of Israeli aerial bombardments which put it out of action Sunday, a few hours after a resumption of flights – the shutdown of air links followed a similar attack last month. The raid targeted the runways, according to the OSDH, which also reported sounds of explosions coming from a military airport in another sector of the capital.
