The Honor Magic 6 Pro survives a parachute jump from space

After rising to an altitude of more than 5,000 meters, an Honor Magic6 Pro is released by parachute. He survives without any damage and his battery is barely damaged by space travel.

Honor wants to go all out on its latest series of smartphones, the Magic6. Unveiled at the start of the year, it includes 4 models, including the very good Magic6 Lite that we were able to test, and the Magic6 Pro, the most high-end. The latter has enough to overshadow the competitors: the 6.8-inch OLED screen is the brightest on the market with 5000 bitsnot to mention that it welcomes a 50 MP selfie sensor and one 3D scanner for facial recognition. THE processor Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 ensures a certain power, while the 5600 mAh battery promises good autonomy.

Honor has so much confidence in its device that the manufacturer put it through an original test. The objective is to demonstrate the resistance of “the second generation Qinghai Lake battery”. Fixed on a support and filmed during the entire operation, a Magic6 Pro flew into the sky using a balloon. Once high enough, the smartphone is released. He is attached to a kind of sail, just as if he were parachuting, and a person is waiting on the ground to pick him up when he lands.

Broadcast on the Chinese social network Weibo, the video shows that the Honor Magic6 Pro leaves with 100% battery. His ascent brings him to more than 5000 meters above sea level, high enough to see the curvature of the Earth. At this altitude, the mobile is exposed to a temperature of -18° Celsius. It lands a little over 3 hours after takeoff. The Honor6 Pro was not cold: it works without problem and its battery now shows 86%. However, it is difficult to judge the rest, the display showing a fixed image for the entire duration of the operation.

The Honor Magic6 series is currently only available in China. Global versions are planned, but we do not yet know which models will ultimately be available in France. Last year, only the Magic5 Pro crossed borders to arrive here.
