The Huawei P60 Pro could ship the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2

Huawei’s smartphones, admittedly discreet on the European market since they can no longer use Google services, are nonetheless worthy of interest. The latest Mate 50 Pro illustrates this: despite some shortcomings, the model is technically very attractive. This could be the case for the next P60 Pro, the flagship of the brand for this first half of 2023, to read the first leaked information about it.

According to the leaker DTChat, which is rampant on the Weibo social network, the smartphone’s technical sheet would obviously be top-of-the-range, but would stand out from the P50 Pro on one point: the device would use the latest version of Qualcomm’s premium chip, namely the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Its predecessor, even though the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 was widely available when it was released, and its “Plus” version was preparing, was indeed content with the Snapdragon 888 SoC, no less efficient however. Huawei would therefore rise this year to the level of its competitors, but undoubtedly with a chip amputated from its 5G modem, therefore being satisfied with compatibility with 4G.

For the rest, the P60 Pro should adopt a 6.6-inch QHD OLED screen, at a refresh rate of 120 Hz, under which we would find 8 GB of RAM, but also a 5000 mAh battery compatible with a charge at 100 W, or even a triple photo module (two 50 Mpx sensors and one of 64 Mpx). The smartphone, whose presentation – alongside a standard P60 – is expected in March in China, would logically run on its domestic market under Harmony OS 3.
