After the rumors and leaks, it’s time to make it official. Sony and Naughty have just confirmed the existence of The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered. Here is its content and what’s new.
The rumor has been floating around on the Web for many months now, it is now confirmed. Faced with leaks published on the evening of Friday, November 17, Naughty Dog was forced to confirm that The Last of Us 2 will indeed have the right to a Remaster version on PS5. It will include a little novelty that is unexpected to say the least.

The Last of Us 2 Remaster is a reality. On the night of November 17 to 18, Naughty Dog let go. The game will be available on PS5 from January 19, 2024. This new version will obviously offer improved graphics, a 4K fidelity mode, improved loading times, but also support for DualSense features. The ba-ba in short, but the Dogs do not stop there. Additionally, a brand new game mode will be incorporated: the “No Return”. A roguelite mode, where players will have to survive as long as possible in each game and by choosing different paths that will lead to random encounters. The icing on the cake is that it will be possible to play “a multitude of characters”, all with characteristics that we are promised are unique, perfect for spicing up boss fights.
The list of playable characters has not been communicated, however, but Naughty Dog promises that this new feature will allow old-timers to rediscover the combat system with a more refreshing experience. The Last of Us 2 Remastered will also feature other new content. Starting with three levels originally cut from the game, which can now be explored. Everything will be accompanied by comments from the developers throughout the game, a free play mode for the guitar (including new instruments to unlock), a speedrun mode and obviously new outfits and weapons to unlock for Ellie and Abby .
How much will the remaster cost?
How much will all this cost? The Last of Us 2 Remastered upgrade will cost €10 for those who already own the game on PS4. A physical edition will also be available. Its price will undoubtedly be revealed when pre-orders open on December 5. It will include a steelbook, in-game collectible cards, a patch and pins.
