Hairstyles that suit everyone are almost too good to be true. But the new hush cut promises exactly that. We asked an expert why the new trend hairstyle flatters (almost) all face shapes.

When it comes to our own hair, we are sometimes more careful than necessary. Every centimeter we cut is discussed for hours, and cheeky steps can swing into yours bring hairstyle. If you’ve never heard of The Hush Cut, now is the time to read on with your full attention.

What is the hush cut?

Hardly any other haircut is trending as much on Google as the hush cut. A hairstyle that originated in Korea and is now gaining popularity in the UK and USA. It’s a softly layered cut, with long bangs or short, side strands that frame the face. Although the hair is completely layered, the hairstyle should still be suitable for (almost) every hair structure, length and face shape. There is one exception: hair that is shorter than chin length becomes a pixie cut, another trend hairstyle, due to the soft layers. So far so good, but can a hairstyle really be that versatile? We asked hair expert Andreas Wild, senior stylist in John Frieda’s team, what the new trend hairstyle can really do.

Why does the hush cut suit almost everyone?

The question is as extensive as the answer is so short: “The hush cut is flattering because it is softly layered. I often cut it with a razor so that there are no hard layers. Individual strands are cut a little shorter so that the hair falls even softer A pony or a few shorter hairs in the front section also make the face appear softer and this makes the cut suit everyone’, explains Andreas Wild The only thing to watch out for is the ends of longer versions of the hush cut Because of the many layers, the hairstyle can thin out too much – less is more.”

The trick to getting as much momentum as possible into your hair is the cutting technique. Hard steps à la Rachel are out, in 2023 our hair will be cut with a razor or thinning scissors. This shifts the weight and the hair falls naturally.

Alternative to the Hush Cut: Which hairstyles are also real game changers?

Hairstyles are always a matter of taste. What suits you does not always correspond to our preferences. That’s why we asked again and wanted to know from the hair professional: Which haircuts are suitable for every hair structure?”

Hair length below the chin (2 cm below the chin) to the shoulder bone is a good length for almost all hair textures. A loosely cut fringe suits everyone.

You have to be careful with very curly hair. It requires different cuts. However, curly bangs would be trendy at the moment, which is why a similar look would be possible.

Time saving when styling

In addition to the flattering soft layers, the hush cut is also super easy to style. The French have been showing us the “Out of Bed” look for years, and hardly any hairstyle is as suitable for the fringed hair style as the new trend hairstyle. Just after washing texture spray apply to hair and blow dry hair. With something hair mousse or one styling cream selected strands can then be brought into the desired position – and you’re done.
