Lydie Lebas’ vacation turned into a real drama last December. While the 50-year-old restaurant owner had gone to Bali to enjoy a stay with her daughters, she mysteriously disappeared. Party to smoke a cigarette on a beach in Gili Trawangan, north of Lombok, on December 18, she never gave another sign of life.

Nearly three weeks after the disappearance of the restaurateur, her daughter, Romy Vaniet is now convinced that her mother had a drowning accident: “We are convinced that she drowned”, explained the eldest of the two girls. “Today, I just want us to find her so that we can move on.” she continued. Research has been carried out to try to find the body of the restorer in the area between Gili Trawangan and Gili Meno. In vain.

For the young woman, there is no other explanation for her disappearance than drowning, even if no witness saw Lydie Lebas swimming. According to her, the elements point in this direction. “My mother is a heavy smoker, if she had wanted to walk around the island, she would have taken her pack of cigarettes with her.” Romy’s mom also didn’t wear shoes.
