Sky is in the middle of filming “The Ibiza Affair” – a series about the Austrian political scandal from 2019.

The spectacular Austrian political scandal from 2019, which among other things became known as the Ibiza affair, goes into series. Sky has announced that the four-part original “The Ibiza Affair” is currently being shot for a short time in Vienna. The work on Ibiza has already been completed.

The affair was about a video that showed the politicians Johannes Gudenus (44) and Heinz-Christian Strache (51), then Vice Chancellor of Austria, at a meeting with an alleged oligarch niece in Ibiza. It was about giving orders in return for financial donations. Strache later announced his resignation as a result of the affair.

Who plays along

Nicholas Ofczarek (49, “Der Pass”) slips into the role of private detective Julian H., who, together with a Viennese lawyer, played by David A. Hamade (42), is the mastermind behind the secretly recorded video. Andreas Lust will represent Strache (54), Gudenus will be embodied by Julian Looman (36). Stefan Murr (44) and Patrick Güldenberg (42) play two “SZ” journalists who were the first to publish the video. Directed by Christopher Schier (50). The series is produced by W&B Television in coproduction with Epo-Film.

The four-part series is based on the book “The Ibiza Affair: Inside Views of a Scandal” by Bastian Obermayer and Frederik Obermaier. In addition, background discussions and information that was unpublished at this point in time should form the basis.
