The Ickabog: J.K. Rowling puts a new children's book online for free

While "The Ickabog" has nothing to do with the "Harry Potter" universe, millions of fans worldwide are likely to find supplies from J.K. Rowling (54) are happy – even if they are actually too old on the piece of paper for the new work of the scriptures. Surprisingly, Rowling announced on Tuesday that it would publish a new children's book completely free of charge on the Internet.

She has completed her design

Although "The Ickabog" is not as fresh as it says. She already had the idea for the children's book when she was still working on "Harry Potter". Between the parts of the popular series, she said that she kept writing to "The Ickabog" and wanted to publish the story after the last original volume "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows". But that never happened.

For almost a decade, an almost finished design had been moved to the attic, but a few weeks ago Rowling decided to complete her work. With the free publication, she particularly wants to make children happy who are currently in the corona lockdown.

Rowling plans to publish at least one chapter a day by July 10. Translations are already being worked on. It can therefore be assumed that there will soon also be a German-language version. The first two chapters are already available in English on the new "theickabog.com" website.

The whole thing is intended as a book that parents can read to their children. Rowling also believes that "The Ickabog" is suitable for children from seven to nine years old if they want to read it themselves.
