DOGE and BTC rush to the literal moon as the half-brother of Canada’s Prime Minister comes out as a massive Dogecoin fan.
To the moon! – this battle cry is an integral part of the crypto liturgy. It expresses the hope for explosive price growth to dizzying heights – actually. Because with Elon Musk and most recently the crypto derivatives exchange BitMEX, the number of players who want to translate the metaphor into the literal is increasing. Tesla’s “Technoking” announced on May 10th that it would send a satellite called “Doge-1” to the moon. The moon mission is to be financed with Dogecoin and Doge will be the first crypto currency and the first meme in space, as “Dogefather” Elon Musk tweeted. The fact that Blockstream has been chasing the Bitcoin Blockchain through orbit for years – a gift.
After all: Bitcoin was not yet on the moon, neither literally nor – according to the Bitcoiners – in a figurative sense. At least with the former, BitMEX wants to remedy the situation.
