Licorice Pizza (Amazon Prime Video)

1973, in the Los Angeles area. Alana Kane and Gary Valentine meet on the day of the latter’s high school class photo. Alana is no longer a high school student, but tries to find her way while working as the photographer’s assistant. Gary already has acting experience, which he hastens to tell the young girl to impress her. Amused and intrigued by his extraordinary self-assurance, she agrees to accompany him to New York for a television show. But nothing goes as planned…

Just like Quentin Tarantino with Once Upon a Time…In HollywoodPaul Thomas Anderson (Magnolia, There Will Be Blood) takes us to the heart of the 1970s (beautifully reproduced) for a snapshot of recklessness, with all the parade of errors and poetry that goes with it. If the story suffers at times from small drops in speed, some scenes are among the most beautiful in recent cinema, and the Alana Haim / Cooper Hoffman duo is a small joy of alchemy. Cherry on the cake, Licorice Pizza is endowed with tasty supporting roles (Sean Penn, Bradley Cooper, Benny Safdie…). Starting June 5 on Amazon Prime Video.

Dancing with the wolves (Canal+)

During the Civil War, Lieutenant John Dunbar, sent to a reconnaissance post in the Dakota plains, encountered the Sioux people. He befriends the Indian population, to the point of integrating a tribe and falling in love with one of their own.

Public and critical acclaim upon its release in 1990, Dancing with the wolves knew how to revitalize the genre of the western by giving it an ecological dimension then unheard of. A visionary film and a great human adventure embodied and directed by Kevin Costner (Bodyguard, Robin Hood), who was then signing his first film as a director. More than 30 years after its release, Dancing with the wolves continues to fascinate with its lyricism, its epic breath and the stunning music of John Barry. To see on Canal+ and the myCanal platform from June 7.
