The fifth and final episode of “The Idol” series is available on Prime Video. Creator Sam Levinson and Lily-Rose Depp react to plot twist.
The sulphurous series of Sam Levinson (Euphoria) and The Weeknd, The Idol, is coming to an end with the release of the fifth episode. This final chapter, titled Jocelyn Forever, reverses the dynamic of the story and reveals the true face of the young pop star (Lily-Rose Depp). Viewers understand that she is not the victim of Tedros (The Weeknd), but rather the mastermind of a well-thought-out manipulation from the start.
“I think a lot of people will see the first few episodes and think this guy is using her.explains Lily-Rose Depp in remarks reported by Deadline, but in the end, he realizes she knows exactly what she’s doing. She is manipulative and strategic. She knows what she wants and nothing can stop her to get her way.”
Creator Sam Levinson adds: “Throughout the season, Jocelyn is in search of inspiration. Tedros becomes the one to unlock this inspiration.”
The end of the episode takes place in a stadium, the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. This sequence was shot during singer The Weeknd’s After Hours tour. “We filmed in front of more than 70,000 people, details the showrunner. We only had two outlets, Friday night and Saturday night. So either it passed or it broke.”
