For his return to the world of Graphic cardIntel will have to quickly correct the situation with more muscular models.

Of course, as the saying goes, Rome wasn’t built in a day and you shouldn’t expect to see Intel cut corners from AMD and NVIDIA for its first generation of GPUs. However, the more we know about the Arc A380, the less this chip seems interesting.

Perfs down 10-15% with an AMD CPU

Three days ago, we were talking about the first independent test of the A380. There was already no question of falling in love with the card signed Intel: the slightest video game put it in great difficulty, even if we limited the comparison to the very modest GeForce GTX 1650.

Today, we learn that these lackluster results nevertheless benefited from the configuration used: a PC based on an Intel processor. As soon as the Core i5-12400 was replaced by an AMD Ryzen 5 5600 – an overall CPU a little more comfortable in games – performance generally dropped by around 10-15%.

Only League of Legends was an exception in performing better on the AMD platform, but for all other games (Dota 2, Total War Three Kingdoms, Watch Dogs Legions, far cry 6, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, CS:GO, Forza Horizon 5, Rainbow 6 Mining), the decline is notable.

Just to drive the point home, let’s add that this time it was made clear that the Resizable-BAR – an essential option according to Intel – was activated. There is still hope for the Arc Alchemist A550 / A770: Intel has never claimed that its A380 would be a racing beast. Fortunately.
