It was on stage that everything really started for this Bordeaux man born April 1, 1929 and who has always been seduced by the show business. After drawing public attention to him in his hometown, it was at the Olympia that he distinguished himself in 1956 by joining Edith Piaf who offered him the first parts of her shows. At the same time, he was awarded the Prix de l’Académie Charles-Cros, along with Serge Gainsbourg and Juliette Gréco. Throughout the next two decades, Marcel Amont expanded his discography and stage success was confirmed, starting with a residence of more than three months at Bobino in 1962. He multiplied collaborations in parallel, Charles Aznavour wrote to him Blue, white, blond who became an immediate success that year, or Georges Brassens, who signed for him Mireille’s hat in 1975. Marcel Amont also sang custom-written titles by Julien Clerc, Maxime Le Forestier and Alain Souchon afterwards.

After a period of withdrawal, he returned to the spotlight in 2006 with the disc Jet lagand collaborating with Aldebert and Emma Daumas.
