The iPad 2022 would be entitled to a new design with a larger screen

Apple is reportedly gearing up to launch its next entry-level iPad in the coming months and we’re already getting a first look at it thanks to 3D renders. On the program: a new, somewhat revised design and a screen that would offer a larger display area than on the previous model.

Little brother wants to grow up, but not too fast. After releasing the 9th generation of iPad last September, it’s the turn of the 10th generation of Apple’s iPad soon to see the light of day with an expected launch in the coming months. While waiting for the deadline, the MySmartPrice site gives us its first 3D renderings which would come from a manufacturer of shells for the device.

iPad Pro design continues to trickle down to the base

These renders give us a first look at what the tablet’s design should be and a few of its features. There is a design with flatter edges like other high-end iPads with four speakers placed at the bottom and top of the device.

This iPad carries over the borders and the Touch ID button of its predecessor and is expected with a larger case of 248.62 x 179.50 x 6.98 mm, but which would also be thinner than the previous model. The screen of the tablet could meanwhile measure 10.5 or 10.9 inches diagonally according to MySmartPrice.

There is also a camera on the back of the device that would gain a flash and take on a new “pill” shape similar to that which could be found, for example, on the iPhone X and Xs.

Finally a model with a USB-C port?

No way, however, to distinguish here the port used by this iPad which is obstructed here by red. Some rumors reported a switch from the classic iPad to a USB-C connection which would improve its charging and transfer speed for files (as Europe will soon require by 2024). But Apple could very well decide to stay on its proprietary Lightning port for a while longer.

This new model should apparently integrate the A14 chip that was previously found in the Apple iPhone 12 as well as in the iPad Air 4th generation of 2020.
