One of the most common is to offer an iPhone in preview for a large sum, and another to acquire a copy for a paltry amount. Except that once the payment is made, the pirates disappear, and the victims no longer see their money.
Between trapped advance purchase and fake competition
Unsurprisingly, and after surfing the end of the holidays and the start of the school year, cybercriminals are capitalizing on the impatience of Apple fans by offering an exclusive iPhone 15, against a high initial price. Their purpose would be to secure the purchase and the so-called sending of the mobile to the apple. The victims, deceived, lose their money and their personal data, thus finding themselves in a dead end. Some hackers also offer pre-order campaigns for $1.99. They are obviously false.
Among the information collected by the hackers, we find banking data, but also more traditional personal information, such as name, email and/or postal address, and telephone number. Enough to enable scams, identity theft and other phishing operations.
