The iPhone 15 could adopt a rounded design

Is it time for the iPhone to change its look? While the iPhone 14 sports the same design as its two predecessors, Apple may well decide to change the game next year.

According to the owner of the Twitter account ShrimpApplePro, the iPhone 15 could indeed sport a more “chubby” design than the current generation of iPhone. The smartphone, which is not expected before September 2023, could therefore have a design similar to that of the iPhone 5C, with much less sharp edges and a much less square profile.

A titanium back?

Apple would thus reconnect with its first love, since the iPhone 2G and 3G displayed in their time a rounded look. What delight those who find that the sharp shape of current models is uncomfortable to hold in hand. Apple has already started to move in a similar direction with its new MacBook Pros, which feature softer edges.

But that’s not all. It could also be that the iPhone 15 – or at least the Pro models – adopt a titanium back instead of the aluminum and steel present on the iPnone 14 and 14 Pro respectively. Hopefully, this will allow future mobiles to better withstand shocks, drops and other hazards of life, a more durable mobile being a benefit for the user and for the environment.
