The future iPhones are fast approaching and Apple could well equip its high-end models with a brand new material.

While the iPhone 15 Pro Max could land several weeks late, the latter could nevertheless suffer a significant weight loss.

Titanium on iPhones from next school year?

In a few weeks, summer will be coming to an end. If this beautiful (and hot) season will have been placed under the sign of rumors of all kinds for the iPhone 15, the start of the school year will mark the start of announcements and confirmations. Yes, Apple has indeed a nice program for the month of September. If the various summer rumors have mentioned the performance, design or even the functionalities of the iPhone 15, that of the day will be more interested in their design.

In the middle of July, we mentioned the fact that the Cupertino company could adopt a new material for the design of its future products: titanium. The various hallway noises also suggested that the Apple Watch Ultra 2 could be equipped with it and that the high-end connected watch would therefore be lighter. But obviously, the adoption of titanium could also result in a significant weight loss on the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max (or Ultra).

The iPhone 15 Pro should be much lighter

On X, a user well known to Internet users, a certain Revegnus, ignited the Web this weekend. While the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max weighed 206 grams and 240 grams respectively on the scale, the latter claimed that this year’s high-end variants will weigh 191 grams and 221 grams. In other words, the iPhone 15 Pro would lose 15 grams, where the Pro Max/Ultra model would be almost 20 grams lighter than its predecessor. A significant gain, which should, if confirmed, considerably relieve your little hands (especially over long sessions).

Beyond the weight loss, the abandonment of stainless steel in favor of titanium should also allow future Apple products that will be equipped with it to benefit from better resistance to shocks and scratches. We now bet that this will be confirmed for the iPhone 15 Pro models. One thing is certain: we won’t have to wait long before we get to the bottom of it!

Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max

  • Dynamic Island
  • Overall performance
  • Screen quality

Tim Cook usually concludes his presentation of a new iPhone by stating that it is the best ever. He’s absolutely right when he talks about the brilliant iPhone 14 Pro Max in so many ways. We appreciate the quality of its screen, the phenomenal computing power of the SoC A16 Bionic, the increased autonomy, and above all, the improvement of the photo and video parts, already powerful on the iPhone 13 Pro Max.

Dynamic Island is a great way to camouflage the hideous notch that sits on iPhone screens…and even make it acceptable. In the end, this gadget is more useful than futile, and we quickly appreciate its presence.

There remain the annoying points, such as the absence of an electrical adapter, the slow charging of the battery and, of course, the price. To afford the “best iPhone ever designed”, you will have to pay at least 1,479 euros for the 128 GB version, an increase of 220 euros compared to the 13 Pro Max. The 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB versions are offered at 1,609, 1,869 and 2,129 euros respectively, which are increases of 230, 260 and 290 euros compared to the iPhone 13 Pro Max of the same capacity.

The iPhone 14 Pro Max is undoubtedly a great product. But its price becomes a deterrent for most potential buyers. In its 1 TB version, it crosses the 2,000 euro mark, like Samsung and its Galaxy Z Fold 4 (2,159 euros). After all, if buyers are ready to pay such sums, manufacturers would be wrong to deprive themselves of it…
