The iPhone 16 Pro Max would be equipped with a larger screen and have larger dimensions than the iPhone 15 Pro Max, according to these comparison images.
Apple is thinking even bigger with its iPhone Pro Max range. A leaker has obtained a prototype of the next iteration, the iPhone 16 Pro Max, which would be exactly the same size as the final product expected in a few months. He compared it with an iPhone 15 Pro Max and there is no photo, the new model is much larger than its predecessor, as you can see in the photos shared below by ZONEofTECH on X.
These photos confirm a previous report according to which the size of the screen of the iPhone 16 Pro Max would increase significantly. The diagonal of the panel would measure between 6.85 and 6.9 inches, which would be a significant increase compared to what Apple had accustomed us to. As a reminder, the screen of the iPhone 15 Pro Max only reaches 6.7 inches, like all its predecessors since the iPhone 12 Pro Max. We notice that Apple rarely changes the screen diagonal of its iPhones, but that the manufacturer goes hard as soon as it decides to get started. Between the iPhone 11 Pro Max (6.5 inches) and the iPhone 12 Pro Max, the panel already gained 0.2 inches.
Bigger screen, thinner bezels
The iPhone 16 Pro Max’s display will get additional space both width and height, which shouldn’t impact the screen ratio too much. To limit the dimensions of the device despite this larger screen, Apple will further reduce the size of the borders. To do this, it would use a technology simply called Border Reduction Structure (BRS).
One of the photos from ZONEofTECH shows the famous CaptureButton which we have been hearing about for several months. This is placed on the same edge as the start button, but much lower. It would not be a mechanical key, but an element capable of recognizing touch and pressure, like the home button on the iPhone SE. We do not yet know what the purpose of the CaptureButtonif it will be customizable, and even if it will ultimately be included in the latest version of the iPhone 16 Pro Max chosen by Apple.
The iPhone 16 Pro screen is also expected to grow, from 6.1 inches to 6.27 inches. It is not clear whether the standard models, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, are also affected by this new format. For economies of scale, this could be the case, unless Apple still has stocks of components from previous generations to sell.
