the Italian souls-like will be massive, it’s confirmed

The Italian souls-like Enotria: The Last Song is back again to show us all its splendor in a striking trailer. He hasn’t stopped making our mouths water.

There are plenty of soul-like songs, and they’re not always big hits. Yes, we cannot necessarily reach the genius of From Software’s productions. However, we can get close, as demonstrated by good students like Lies of P or Mortal Shell. The idea is still to find your own identity, while keeping the essence of this type of game. One of the next on the list that will attempt the exercise is Enotria: The Last Song. For the moment, we have every reason to believe that it’s a future gem, and it’s not the new trailer that will contradict us.

Enotria: The Last Song presents its attractive gameplay

These days, it’s complicated to stand out from the competition, especially for a souls-like. However, this is what Enotria: The Last Song will try to do. The Jyamma Games studio made this clear to us through a new trailer focusing on the gameplay of the game, among other things. As a reminder, you play as a Maskless person responsible for defeating the Playwrights, the entities responsible for Canovaccio. An eternal play that is capable of plunging the world into “supernatural stasis”.

These new images therefore show us the future threats that await you, and the environments that you will explore. We must admit, it is absolutely beautiful and we feel that it is a universe truly steeped in Italian folklore. As for the gameplay, it looks quite nervous, offering a varied selection of weapons, but especially counters. These are well highlighted in the trailer, so we advise you to sharpen your reflexes. In any case, what we see is rather convincing.

In terms of new features, we recently learned that the game would take around forty hours to complete. A big lifespan that promises a massive adventure. This is all the more surprising for a title like this, which does not have an incredible budget. Giacomo Greco, the studio’s CEO, recalled that the move to Unreal Engine 5 made it possible to extend the scope of Enotria: The Last Song beyond expectations, “exceed the qualitative and quantitative standards expected of an AA experience”. Words that make you salivate, but still have a little patience, because it comes out on August 21, 2024 on PC and PS5 (later on Xbox Series).
