Shortly before the start of the championship, FC Basel’s fears should come true. At the Rhine knee, there are growing signs that Zeki Amdouni will no longer be part of the squad in the 2023/24 season.
The club informed 4 days before its first game of the season on Saturday at FC St. Gallen via Twitterthat the 22-year-old is no longer in training. Instead, he is already completing medical tests with a potential new employer.
It has been rumored for days that Amdouni could move to England. He is linked to Premier League promoted Burnley. On the island, the season starts on August 11 – Burnley is waiting for the kick-off against champions and CL winners Manchester City with Manuel Akanji.

Born in Geneva, he only played for one year at FC Basel and was initially on loan from Lausanne. 22 goals resulted from 52 FCB appearances in the 2022/23 season. Amdouni has also fitted in well with the national team and has already scored 5 goals after 5 matches.
