Lilly Becker Crowned Jungle Queen Amid Emotional Reunion

Lilly Becker, at the age of 48, has achieved the title of jungle queen after an impressive performance in the finale of ‘I’m a Star – Get Me Out of Here!’ on February 9. She triumphed over fellow contestants Alessia Herren, 23, and Pierre Sanoussi-Bliss, 62. While her victory was a moment of pride, an emotional reunion with her son, Amadeus, stole the show and left an unforgettable mark on her heart.

Prior to the heartfelt encounter, hosts Sonja Zietlow and Jan Köppen guided the competitors through a series of intense challenges. The stars had to navigate various trials designed to test their limits, all unfolding on RTL.

Challenges and Trials: A Test of Grit

In a recap showcasing eliminated contestants Edith Stehfest and Timur Ülker, Sanoussi-Bliss expressed his delight at reaching the finale, stating, “We are in the jungle camp finale. […] People really like us.” The final three contestants then faced their respective trials without knowledge of what lay ahead. Herren opted for the ‘I can’t do it!’ challenge, Becker followed suit with her own version, and Sanoussi-Bliss chose the ‘I don’t want to do it!’ trial.

Herren was the first to take on her challenge, which involved searching for stars in a chamber filled with typical jungle creatures. Despite her initial courage, she struggled with her fears and ultimately finished empty-handed.

Meanwhile, Sanoussi-Bliss tackled his trial with determination, facing off against five courses of unappealing jungle delicacies. He bravely consumed an array of bizarre foods, including pureed cow vagina and crocodile testicles, managing to earn four out of five possible stars in the process.

Becker’s challenge, known as the ‘Mother of all Trials,’ involved submerging her head in a Plexiglas container filled with water and creatures. Unfortunately, an eel slipped beneath her clothing, triggering a panic attack that led her to pull the emergency cord before she could earn any stars.

In a surprising twist, RTL reported that this season had the lowest star ratio ever recorded, with only 63 stars earned out of a possible 188.

As the trio prepared for their ‘traditional last supper in the jungle,’ they engaged in a lighthearted quiz to earn gifts. Becker charmingly pondered a playful question about bagpipes, and they ultimately succeeded in securing small mementos. Becker received a bracelet with a heartfelt note from her son, while Herren and Sanoussi-Bliss enjoyed special gifts from their loved ones.

For their final dinner, Becker remarked on the romantic ambiance of the table, where they enjoyed a delectable feast featuring truffle pasta, sea bass, and boiled potatoes—perfect for celebrating their journey.

As the moment of crowning arrived, the anticipation was palpable. Alessia secured third place, reminiscent of her late father’s journey, and soon after, Zietlow and Köppen announced Lilly as the winner. With joy radiating from her, Becker rushed to accept her crown and scepter.

However, the most touching moment was yet to unfold as Zietlow conveyed a surprise for Lilly. With the cue given, her son Amadeus stepped forward, prompting an emotional embrace that overshadowed the triumph of winning. The crown and scepter were momentarily forgotten as the jungle queen celebrated the reunion that truly mattered.
