The Killer: Omar Sy makes an astonishing revelation about the remake of John Woo

In an interview with our colleagues from Parisian, Omar Sy revealed that he would not play the main role in the remake of “The Killer” by John Woo, produced for the Peacock platform.

The announcement of the remake of The Killer, classic Hong Kong action cinema of the 80s, had presaged Omar Sy as a worthy successor to the legendary Chow Yun-Fat. Unfortunately, it won’t…

The 44-year-old actor, on view this Wednesday, January 4, in the film Tirailleurs, will indeed appear in this new version directed by John Woo, already the author of the original film, but not in the main role.

During an interview granted to our colleagues from Parisian, Omar Sy thus revealed that in this remake, The Killer will be a woman, while the latter will play the role of the cop launched on his heels. Everything therefore suggests that the French actor will inherit the role of Inspector Li from the original film, played at the time by Danny Lee.

Remember that this remake, the shooting of which will begin soon, will be produced for the needs of the Peacock platform. A new project for Omar Sy, who has never been in so much demand in Hollywood, in particular by the streaming giants Netflix and HBO Max, with whom he recently teamed up to develop exclusive content.

In addition to Tirailleurs, Omar Sy will also be showing this year in the highly anticipated season 3 of Lupine on Netflix, and could soon start filming the series inspired by the true story of the black samurai Yasuke.
