the last free DLC of the game is here, it makes you want

HEXWORKS’ post-launch follow-up to Lords of the Fallen reaches its pinnacle with the arrival of version 1.5, which notably adds a highly anticipated free DLC.

As promised by HEXWORKS and CI Games through the roadmap of free content coming to Lords of the Fallen, Souls-Like welcomes its final patch with the free DLC “Master of Destiny”. This allows you to considerably modify the gaming experience. We enlighten your Lantern about it.

Lords of the Fallen finally in control of its destiny with this free DLC?

Released in October 2023, Lords of the Fallen again was an opportunity to restore the image of this Souls-like license after a rather disappointing first attempt in 2014. This new version was generally praised for its level design based on two very distinct plans and for its demanding gameplay. The title, however, suffered from performance issues and some balancing issues. HEXWORKS has since worked hard to refine its game with more than thirty patches.

Lords of the Fallen is receiving its final massive patch today, with a feature much appreciated by Souls-Like. This takes the form of a free DLC called “Master of Destiny”. Its operation is similar to a Randomizer in other games of the genre. Players can thus create a tailor-made experience via seven distinct parameters. These notably add randomness to the enemies and bosses that we will encounter, as well as to the loot recovered. There is also an Ironman mode, meaning that the death of your character marks the return to the start of the game. The player’s progress will however be saved, to offer an experience close to the roguelite genre. You can learn more about this free DLC via the video below.

An ending that marks a new beginning

The addition of this free DLC therefore marks the end of the injection of free content and routine updates for Lords of the Fallen. Since its release, the game has indeed welcomed its share of new quests, new equipment, new skills, balancing modifications and even quality of life, as well as numerous fixes aimed at improving performance and the overall gaming experience. .

HEXWORKS and CI Games are now satisfied with the state of the game and are already looking to the future. The form this will take for the license is not yet set in stone. Regardless, the future of this new version of the franchise looks more promising than that of its predecessor.
