According to information from France 3, CCTV footage shows her leaving her home from the 4th arrondissement of Marseille, around 6:15 p.m. A witness reportedly saw the young woman ride in a dark car from the 1980s-1990s, without having been forced to do so. At this time, the identity of the driver is unknown. The vehicle then headed towards Gémenos (Bouches-du-Rhône), a town located 20 kilometers east of Marseille. At this stage of the investigation, these are the last moments when Mélodie was seen alive.

Mélodie’s former lover indicted

An hour and a half later, the young woman’s phone was limited to the 11th arrondissement of the Phocaean city. A destination that greatly surprised those close to her, and in particular her husband, Pearl. “It’s not an area we go to often”, he said last November. Mélodie’s former lover was indicted for murder. His partner, a bank employee, was indicted for failure to report a crime. A murder which is added to the long list of feminicides : the Minister of the Interior counted 118 in 2022.
