With season 1 barely completed, all eyes are on season 2 of The Last of Us. It must be admitted that we know little about these next episodes expected for the end of 2024, or even the beginning of 2025. The story will adapt The Last of Us Part II, but we do not yet know how – or who will play the essential Abby. But the return of Pedro Pascal as Bella Ramsey is recorded.
And regarding Bella Ramsey, there is additional good news: her YouTube channel. The actress actually has a channel called United Hope. Although it remains relatively confidential and there has not been a new video for 2 years, Bella Ramsey offered covers, vocals and guitar.
This discovery could be very anecdotal if chance did not do things well: this YouTube channel actually gives us a little teaser of season 2. And fans of the game already know why.
Music is at the heart of The Last of Us Part II
The Last of Us Part II is a very large game, which has a number of recurring themes. Music is part of it. The very first teaser for this sequel, which caused quite a stir at the time, was none other than Ellie, on guitar, singing a cover of Through the Valley.
And the fact is that the whole game is structured like this: in the first part, Joel made a promise to Ellie to teach him the guitar, which he did, in Jackson, for the five years preceding the action of the second part. This then becomes a relational symbol of the two characters; in addition to an important and recurring element of staging.
This results in several cult sequences of the game – for example when Ellie and Dina (character whose actress is apparently already cast) pass by the side of an abandoned music store, giving rise to a beautiful acoustic cover of take on me.
In the game, the vocals are provided by Ashley Johnson, the actress who plays Ellie. Similarly, Troy Baker, the actor behind Joel, also provides voice. These covers even gave rise to an album, “covers and rarities”, taken from the game (on vinyl and on all listening platforms such as Spotify).
So it can only be good news that Bella Ramsey is already able to sing and play the guitar. This part, crucial in the story, will therefore be present in the Part II. And the actress is definitely the perfect actress for this role, as season 1 already proved.
