On the occasion of The Last of Us Day, the Naughty Dog teams have unveiled images of the highly anticipated series around the adventures of Joel and Ellie. We find there Pedro Pascal (Joel), Bella Ramsey (Ellie) alongside Anna Torv (Tess) who face clickers in a purely stressful scene. We easily recognize key passages from the Naughty Dog video game and the spectators immediately plunge into the ambient anguish of this post-apocalyptic world.
While the HBO series will follow the main plot of Naughty Dog’s first opus, it will still add new sequences to it to deepen the story without changing its course. As big fans of the license, here is the five cult scenes we spotted in the trailer for the HBO series of The Last of Us !
From virtual to reality
The first installment of Naughty Dog’s mythical license begins with this scene that broke the hearts of absolutely all players. Joel, living in Austin, Texas, tries somehow to escape the infected by holding his daughter Sarah in his arms. Unfortunately, we know the tragic fate that awaits it, but despite everything, it proves to us that the HBO series will explore this chaotic sequence, enough to make us shed a few tears from the start of the plot!
- Meeting with a clicker
Trapped in a dark and dusty building, Joel, Ellie and Tess must use stealth to avoid a rather recalcitrant clapper, a hideous creature that will make short work of the protagonists if it finds them. This is a scene that promises to be quite stressful, and we can already feel the pressure of the situation!
Another tragic scene from the first part of The Last of Us, the sacrifice of Tess. Of course, the trailer for the HBO series shows another point of view of the scene, but we have managed to recognize the typical arches of the building in which the friend of the protagonists will have to face her tragic fate. Again, get ready to break out the tissues.
Players will no doubt remember the kidnapping of Ellie, which will cause Joel to return heaven and earth to find her. Under the clutches of David, our young protagonist will manage to escape before having to kill her enemy herself. A traumatic scene for Ellie, and full of emotion for Joel, who will find her totally shocked.
This reunion will give rise to an emotional sequence, which will bring tears to the viewers of the series. There is no doubt, the resemblance between the production of HBO and the video game of Naughty Dog is striking.
The cult sequence of the production of Naughty Dog is in a DLC called left-behind. Accompanied by her best friend Riley, Ellie takes a ride on an old carousel. For a few minutes, the two friends manage to forget the horrors of the world in which they now live.
The presence of this scene in the HBO trailer proves that not only will the series explore the main plot of The Last of Us Part 1, but also its DLCs. Rather interesting!
